The rescue was opened in 2017 by local resident Deryn Hagemann.

The rescue has grown with a lot of effort and hard work which would not have been possible without the support and generosity from the community.

Each hedgehog that comes in to the rescue is assessed for injuries, parasites and illnesses. After treatment and when the hedgehog is back to a healthy weight, wherever possible we return to the finder to be released .

On average we treat and release around one hundred and fifty hedgehogs back to the wild each year.
